International programme

The English Folk Dance and Song Society’s (EFDSS) international programme aims to help English folk artists present and promote their work overseas.

To date programme activities have included:

  • Spotlight England showcases at Celtic Connections 2013. More info 
  • Annual exchanges with Music Prince Edward Island, Canada. More info
  • Annual showcasing at the Folk Alliance International Conference in North America. More info
  • Being a founding partner in the new English Folk Expo (EFex) at The Met, in Bury, October 2013. More info


EFDSS is also a partner of the British Council’s Folk Nations project, the first stage of which was a creative residency in Kolkata for UK folk artists and traditional artists from India, Bangladesh and Pakistan. More info

Our Douglas Kennedy International Fellowships allow us to support artists in their international development, from showcases, commissions and touring.
