Run 396 miles so we shall easily reach Liverpool tomorrow morning. Passed Fastnet at 4.30 and there reached the danger zone.1 Everyone rather tense & excited but little talk on the subject. I slept very little at first with my clothes afterwards without them. Many of the men paced the deck all or partly through the night. Nothing whatever happened except that the old ship creaked & went as fast as she could.
