Slept very badly & felt very ill but after another visit from Dr Ellis felt a little better and found myself able to move a bit. My nurse Mrs Lermond very attentive. I got up for an hour or two in the afternoon and Richard Aldrich (N[ew] Y[ork] Times) who was staying here came & saw me. Also Mrs John Campbell of Asheville, North Carolina, who showed me her collection of ballads which I found most interesting.Location
