Slept very badly. Motored through Cambridge — saw something of Harvard — into Boston and caught the 10 — 3.10 train back to N[ew] Y[ork]. Travelling in this country is not a journey so much as a ceremonial — at least on these very grand trains! Rehearsed 4.15-6.45. Then dined with Barkers & welcomed N[orman] Wilkinson just arrived from England. Went to bed at 1 a.m. but again slept very badly. Am getting a little anxious lest I may not be able to stand this exciting climate.Location
