Scarcely slept at all last night but have done a very hard day’s work notwithstanding. Perhaps it was partly the strange room. Rehearsed from 10-1 then again 2.30-4.45. Beginning to go rather better but still rather rough. Got letters from home — three from Maudie and one from little Joan. Dined at Players Club with Barker & Wilkinson as the guests of Austin Strong and Christian Brinton — two extremely interesting men. We began at 6.30 & separated at 9.15 — a christian hour which will enable me to get to bed a bit earlier to-night. Cabled Lindo — What boat did Mattie [Kay] sail by?1 Not having heard I want to make sure that she has started.Location
