Slept very well. Breakfast 10.30. Doctor looked at my eye & said he would do the necessary small operation at 1. Wrote letters till then. Op[eration] quite easy & successful. Lunched at Players with W[ilkinson. Called at Burchenals & Squires and dined at Players with W. Talked with him in my room till 1 a.m.Location
