A miserable wet day — rained heavily without ceasing & is still doing so — 11.45 p.m. First bought another umbrella — this time for one dollar! Then rehearsed band at Bryant Hall afterwards lunching with [Alleyne] Ireland. From there I went to 56 Dock N. R. to meet Mattie [Kay]. After a long weary wait and dilatory customs I go back to Hotel at 5.30. A hasty tea & then into dress clothes to go to the Hectors to dinner & afterwards to the Kneisel Quartet. Back to Hotel to find several letters & 2 telephone calls which have answered as well as I can & so to bed!Location
