Dec.28. Began rehearsing at Empire theatre — a very small space at back of stage. Interviewed many dancers and began choosing them & singers. Lunched with Miss Hall. Dec. 29. Rehearsed at Bryant Hall. Got my 12 dancers and found them very intelligent, but awkward in their movements, women better than the men. Called on Gray again, also Leipzieger & Whiting.
