Breakfast at 9 after a broken night — found it hard to get into a comfortable position. Wrote letters all the morning except when Mr Stuart Walker called. He is the Portmanteau Theatre man and I gave him drinking song tune from Gammer Gurton’s needle.1 Rested, after having lunch at Cafe des Beaux Arts, had tea, and then a walk with Maud. Gardner came to dinner & we discussed Columbia contract at some length after. He suggested (1) I be allowed to conduct (2) 2-year contract (3) 10 dollars per side (1 or 2 tunes) for supervision (4) 2 cents royalty on each side. Is to write me further on the subject.Location
