Transcription Notes
Sleep better than usual — only one burning of asthma powder — about midnight and wake with tubes clear and a temp[erature] of 97.7 below normal. Wonder what I have had and what I am in for, if anything. Decide to stay in bed to-day and to get away from this place as soon as I am strong enough to stand journey to Hazard. Mrs Pace comes in in the afternoon and sings to me. Miss Byers follows and I talk pretty freely to her taking the Running Set and their barring of it as my text! Write out some of my tunes into my book as well as I can manage it in bed. Maud goes out at six p.m. to the Mayor’s dance. I am feeling pretty chippy, my legs and arms very nervy and jumpy, but temperature keeps down. Maud returns at 11 packs me off to bed, but I don’t feel like sleeping.Location
