Slept fairly well, considering. Arrived at Washington 3 hours late. Told at 8.30 that no dining car would be put on and that if we wanted breakfast we must get it in the station and that train was timed to leave at 9. Hurried up and got a snatch breakfast, only to find when we got back to the train that a dining car had been put on! Arrived at N[ew] York at 3.30 about 3_ hours late as usual. Algonquin people delighted to see us. Telephone message from Rabold greeted us on arrival and he himself turned up half an hour afterwards. He stayed and talked had dinner with us and went away at 10 p.m. No trunks of course so we had up some of our boxes from the hotel and did some unpacking & arranging of things.Location
