Worked at letters etc in the morning and then went round to see Gray. Found him very upset at the idea that I was going to publish with Schirmer. I did my best to soothe him and to some extent succeeded. In the afternoon went to the Belmont Hotel for E.F.D.S. meeting, Peabody, as pompous as ever, in the sec[retary’s] chair, Mrs Storrow, Miss Beiderhaze, Raybold & self constituting the Com[mittee], but others present with watching briefs, Miss Boyce from Pittsburgh, Charlotte Foss, Miss Gilman, Gowing, Peggy Scovill etc. All went very well. We consoled Peabody, passed a motion to retain present officers for a year and do without a Gen[eral] Meeting. We all dined at Mrs Storrow’s room i.e. Maud, Lily, Emma & self. Glenn came in after & he Mrs S & I discussed my financial prospects. Mr Storrow turned up a few minutes later on and was very nice but looked woefully tired.Location
