Rather a lazy day after a long breakfast lasting nearly 2 hours here with the Campbells. It was clear that she did not expect to have her name on the next book — she made this clear to me yesterday. I had asked her, too, to let me dedicate my book to her, and this pleased her immensely. Poor things they look very sad. We did not mention their great loss, thought it better not to do so. They go south to day or tomorrow. May meet them at Washington at Xmas time. I went round to Putnam’s to get a folder advertisement for my book — they agreed. Then to Public Library to see if I could get any of the 18th cent[ury] country dance books, Walsh etc — but found they had none. Maud and I lunched at Beaux Arts with Iden Payne — he dines with us at 41st st[reet] on Sat[urday] at 7.30. Quiet afternoon afterwards and tea at home.Location
