Miss Hewitt telephoned just as I was leaving for R[ussell] S[age] Foundation & wanted a lesson. So I went to Rabold’s studio & taught her from 11-12. Then to Biltmore where Robert Scott gave me lunch together with his friend & colleague Professor Gelman — folk- lore & anthropologist. Rested a while & then to tea with Maud at Mrs de Forest’s where we met her daughter Mrs Stuart whose husband just back from Serbia. Back to Hotel to dress for dinner at the Dakins (Mrs Hester that was). A very nice party, the Aldrich’s, Mr & Mrs Jackson & self. Had a nice long talk afterwards in drawing room. Like Mrs Jackson very much. She is a Con[necticut?] woman and has travelled in the mountains a great deal. One of the nicest evenings I have spent for some time. Back at 11. Weather terribly cold — north west wind very biting but temp[erature] really not very low about 25.Location
