Breakfasted by myself again! Maud & Rabold came in later on. I went on with Carnegie Draft and made out lists of titles and books. Then went out to call on Whiting and get him to come here & lunch with Madewell. Did some shopping with Maud — took list to Putnams to send out folders. Back home and started packing again — a most gruesome business. Maud & Charlotte went off to lunch and I entertained Whiting & Madewell. I like latter best — the former is too beastly respectable & sunk in Academism! After rest went round with Maud & Charlotte to Rabolds to have tea with him, Gowing & Gilmans. I played any number of folksongs from Ditson book — the sound of the piano under my fingers makes me tingle all over as I hardly ever touch an instrument nowadays. Then Maud Charlotte and I dined at the Fermery, back home to finish off miserable packing — the usual difficulty in arranging what to take & what to leave. Very wet night, but clear this morning & all day warm.Location
