Transcription Notes
Wrote many letters in the morning to Alp[honso] Smith, Gummere etc in reply to congratulatory letters — and worked at my Running Set. Then to Harvard Library with Kittredge where I spent a very pleasant morning. The library is a wonderful place very well laid out & organized. Will be a nice place to work at when I want to make notes for my third book. Mrs Coolidge lunched with us at Mary & Elizabeth. After a rest I wrote several letters, went out to buy a pipe & some tobacco, dressed & walked to Mrs Storrow’s for dinner. Spent a quiet evening with her — the first quiet talk I have had with her for a long while. Walked home between 10 & 11 in very cold weather. Weather fairly good, cold but bearable because not windy. It is the wind here which does for me!Location
