Worked at my book all the morning. Am getting on with it by degrees quite well. Maud lunched with Charlotte, Norah [Jervis] etc and I lunched by myself at City Club after trying in vain to get hold of some Irish or Scottish Jigs at Schirmers. Rested and then after writing some letters had tea with Bradley up in my room. Discussed the Carnegie situation and he promised to push the Yale people as strongly as he could. Had a very pleasant talk with him and was sorry that he had to leave to catch the 6 train. Then I wrote some more letters including a long one to Constance. I got a letter from her this afternoon — the third this week — about financial matters which depressed me terribly now that my prospects of helping them at home have dropped to zero! Rabold called at 6.45 and we all went out to lunch at Peg Woffingtons. He came back and read some of my descriptions in the R[unning] Set & seemed to approve.Location
