Wrote letters and finished up MSS of Running Set — all except the Introduction. This I took round to Gray who will send it to press at once. Discussed with him the question of the music. Then to the Public Library to look up some tunes. Took down half a dozen or so. Lunched with Maud at a new and very indifferent place in 46th Street. We meant to go to the Seven Candles but I barged into the wrong place next door before Maud who was very annoyed (naturally) could stop me. After a rest had tea then walked down 5th Ave[nue]. Maud bought me a nice pair of warm gloves and I gave her a pound of Marsh Mallows — good ones. Then we went out at 7 to the seven candles which this time I hit off penitently! It is a nice place only recently opened, clean, good attendance and not dearer than anywhere else. Wrote a lot of letters in the evening, to Geoffrey Shaw, Schirmer, Miss Perrin, Miss Lewisohn etc.Location
