Got up early, breakfast at 7.45, then took our boxes etc in a taxi, called for Miss Gilman who brought her swords etc and went to Washington Irving High School to begin our 4 days session. Found more students than we had expected — about 40 or more for the full course and nearly 30 for the special C[ountry] D[ance] class. Found it very exhausting 9.30-1 and 2- 4.30! Lunched at a wretched place close by Gramercy Square. Got home to tea after calling upon Schirmers. Rested & then went out to dinner at 7 candles, Rabold as our guest. He came back here afterwards and we talked till 10 when he went & we prepared for bed. On the whole a very satisfactory day if a very exhausting one. Weather very cold again but beautifully clear & fresh with very little wind. A wonderful climate.Location
