After breakfast got hold of Porter about tickets for Marion, then had the Laundry proprietor up to my room who agreed to make no charge for my washing which was still dirty and of the colour of the blue-sky! Then finished off packing and wrote letters to Glenn, Mrs Byerly and Mrs Debart, the last two of Meadows of Dan. We caught the 1.30 train and enjoyed the comparative luxury of a Pullman car. Arrived at Marion at 6.30 and to our great surprise found quite a nice hotel viz the Marianna where we engaged two clean rooms — alas on top floor. After dinner walked out and got into conversation with one Geddy and from him learned that Kirk Freeman Mrs Saran Buckner’s brother — whom we heard about 2 years ago — is still in Marion — Geddy also gave us another name of a singer a Mrs W L Godfrey. Then we looked in at the Movies — but it was only a look in as it was such terrible poor stuff and such an old dilapidated reel that we very soon left. Had a very sweet drink at the Drug Store & then to bed.Location
