Transcription Notes
Had a very quiet day. After breakfast sat in the sun — to get warm — and chatted with Dr Patterson of the N[orth] C[arolina] University, about the war and various public matters. Then wrote out my tunes which occupied me till lunch time. After a rest & tea dictated several important letters to Maud, to Feakins, Sam Hume & Miss Perrin. Also wrote to Constance. After dinner sat on verandah with the Hempels and smoked & chatted. Weather still very cold, but the sun went down well to night so that we may expect finer & warmer weather tomorrow.Location
