Made an app[ointment] with Dr Sinclair the dentist for 10 a.m. Accordingly we both went down. He took another plaster cast of my mouth — the usual beastly business — and told me to come again tomorrow morning. Maud had several things done and has also to make another visit tomorrow. We then did a little shopping — bought a silver match-box for William, a squash hat for myself and an evening collar — took my films to be developed at Faterf’s. Got back for lunch. After tea wrote several letters, first of all to Alphonso Smith sending him the tunes he asked for. Then wrote to Glenn, Miss May Stone, Bradley and Miss Gilchrist. Went out for a short while on the Terrace but weather very cold and uninviting. We have been in cloud all day. Made friends with a Mr & Mrs Clarke of Danville V[irginia], who have travelled in the mountains & to our surprise learned that they had stayed at Byerley’s at The Meadows of Dan. The organist at the evening recital played several of my harmonized tunes — not over well, but he will do better when he has arranged the accompaniments for his instrument. He is most complimentary concerning the accompaniments!Location
