Maud’s cold is very bad and she has late breakfast. I go down to dentist again in the morning and have my new permanent set fitted. They seem all right and quite comfortable at this early stage. It will be a relief to be independent of [....?]. I do some mild shopping and return to lunch, write several letters to Lily etc and in the afternoon have a long spell at my photos, getting copies into my book, negatives filed away and indexed; and then select some 30 or more and send them to Meyrowitz for more copies to be made and 9 lantern slides. Am introduced to Seeley by Longhurst the organist and have a talk with him. He is a fat robust rather vulgar type of man, full of self-confidence and rather conceited! Just the sort of man in this country who makes money! Am having a nice quiet time here, have a tremendous appetite so that I can do full justice to the excellent food! The Spanish Influenza is raging in Asheville as everywhere and it will be a miracle if we keep clear of it.Location
