Wrote letters to Mrs Callery, Winthrop Rogers Dr Farnsworth, Grove Park Inn, Iden Payne Miss Gilchrist, Constance and Tet. Breakfast fairly early and then Maud and I went out, first to Feakins whom we found out. He however turned up here in the afternoon and we had a long interview with him. He gave a very lugubrious account of the way in which the Flu epidemic was playing havoc with lecture engagements. I had an interview also with Sonneck about the Winthrop Rogers imbroglio — hence my letter to the latter. Called on Putnam who made an app[ointment] with me for tomorrow morning at 10.30. Rabold turned up at tea time & we three walked to Brentano’s where I tried to discover why I had received no copies of the New Statesman. Of course they had no other excuse than that they had been sent to me. As I had received none it was difficult to believe that this was so! I also called on the N[ew] Y[ork] Times to whom I sent a dollar when I was at Burnsville directing papers to be sent to me. I never received acknowledgement nor papers. Of course they had never received my letter! Met Harris Brown at Peg Woffingtons where we dined to-night.Location
