Transcription Notes
Very warm day but bright & not muggy. Put on summer flannel suit and return to summer habits! Look up my MS accompaniments and then after leaving my pince-nez (which I broke last night) at Meyrowitz go to 8 East 30th to Raudeggen’s studio where I hire a room with a piano in it and spend a couple of hours harmonizing — chiefly Green Bushes. Return at 1.30 and lunch at Algonquin with Maud. Get nice letter from Percy Dearmer who is now living at Berkeley Div[isional?] Coll[ege], Middletown, Conn[ecticut], asking me to lecture there next week; also one from Mrs Storrows asking me to give a resume of my mountain work to a select audience chosen by her Kittredge & Peabody at Boston next Friday. Rabold comes to tea and then we take 2 of my hats to be re-furbished up and afterwards select one for Maud at Constable’s, Charles & I sitting on 2 chairs and criticizing to the amusement of the young ladies. Home & write letters to Dearmer, Mrs Storrows, Peabody & Kittredge. Margaret Edgerley turns up at this hotel for the night & she dines with us at the Dewdrop Inn, East 40. I then took up tunes & words for my lecture next week at Boston & then to bed.Location
