Had a bad night with my throat. I don’t know what it is but it is very similar to what I have had before. It feels like rheumatism of the trachea & the surrounding muscles and is most painful when I lie down. At 11 I meet Peabody at Harvard and go to the museum where he shows me the flints, pottery etc he recently excavated in the Mississippi region. Then to the library where I saw the photo-stat copies of my music books which look really nice & clear. On my way home I take my films to a photo man in Broomfield Street to be made into lantern slides, promised for Friday morning — 13 of them. After lunch at the City Club with Maud and a rest we do our accounts and I write several letters, to Cleveland lecture man, David Mannes, Putnams (ordering book for Percy Dearmer) Gray (suite for Mannes) bank etc. At 7 I meet Kittredge at Union Club for dinner. Very nice talk with him. I arrange to get earlier mountain books photo’d in London at Harvard’s expense. Sat up late on my return as I was afraid to go to bed because of my throat.Location
