Packed in the morning and got trunks off about 10.30. Then wrote some letters and tidied up till 12.30 when Emma & Louisa Chapin called and we all four went off to lunch at the women’s City Club and then took a fond farewell of each other. Goodness knows if we shall see each other again before we leave for England but it looks as though we shan’t. Went out and got my lantern slides which to my surprise I found awaiting me! Bought some Baylston pipes — wonder[?] I shall smoke any of them in England? Had a rest & some tea and then caught 4.45 for Cleveland feeling quite done up when I reached the train. I slept much better last night but I am still far from well. A very jolty train, evidently a worse "engineer" than usual driving the train! Went to bed at 10.30 but my neuralgia came on so badly I found it quite impossible to sleep, and I had a very bad night indeed. Wrote to Edith Canterbury and sent off my book to her.Location
