Maud ill this morning either from the sudden cold which is very trying or from something she eat yesterday. So I have to go to the Jew’s Gym by myself take Sword Dance Class and Exam i.e. from 9.30-12. I passed 5 and ploughed 2. They were not a very good lot — nothing like so good as the Educational people. Miss Benzell[?] motored me back to Hotel where, after having my hair cut (2/-!) and boots cleaned we had lunch downstairs. Miss Perrin & Capt[ain] Pearl called, the former desirous of introducing the latter to us — a very dull dog recently returned from France where he had clearly failed to assimilate any of the French temperament. After a rest packed up for the night’s journey, paid my account etc and prepared for dinner and the lecture after it. Miss Dyar called at 7.40 and motored us to the North School. This was our programme, Peascods, Bl[ack] Nag, Old Mother Oxford, Newcastle, Hey Boys, Nonesuch, Flamboro, If all the world, Rufty, Chelsea Reach, Princess Royal, Mage, Confess & Old Mole. All went very well. Then after picking up our suit cases etc at the Statler taxi’d to station and caught the 11.45 for N[ew] York. A very heavy day and I was glad when it had come to an end.Location
