Transcription Notes
Breakfast rather late. Afterwards wrote letters to Louise Freer, Nina Lamkin, Mrs Collin, Principal Kalamazoo, Miss Bristol (Kettering), Elliott & Fry, Messrs Stechut[?], Oliver McCowen Y.M.C.A. (France) Miss Hewitt, Ed[ward] Sanderson (Peoples Institute) Percy Dearmer, Mrs Storrows, Farnsworth, Potter, Meredith & Mrs Rogers. Quite a large batch of letters although this does not quite clear my desk even now. At 1.30 I went to lunch at the Glenns by myself — Maud being seedy — meeting an American Army man Col[onel] Ayers who goes with the President to Europe on Tuesday next. Miss Brown, Mrs Glenn’s sister goes to France tomorrow on Red Cross affairs. We had a very pleasant luncheon the conversation turning largely on the question of the American & English navies! I walked home, had tea, did some work and then Rabold called to dine with us downstairs. He stayed till fairly late talking and now it is time for me to turn in. Cannot make up our minds whether we ought not to try & make a dash for the Lapland Dec[ember] 7th instead of waiting till the 14th. Many arguments pro & con.Location
