Weather moderated in the night and my cabin being less hot than heretofore I managed to get 6 or 7 hours sleep. Quite a lovely day, plenty of wind but a nice soft air which was soothing to everybody including the invalids of yesterday, most of whom sooner or later put in an appearance during the morning. But quite a number of these had lunch on deck. Maud is better and more herself to-day but has not been down to any meals since the first day. She breakfasts in her cabin and has lunch & dinner on deck. Am feeling happier now as we certainly have passed the half-way mark and have the end of the voyage well in sight. I hope this may be my last voyage for many a long day as I am sick of travelling — but I dare say after a few months rest on shore I shall begin to think differently. Indeed I should not be surprised if I do not find it very difficult to settle down again to the comparatively quiet life which I led before the war. Maud and I are constantly discussing Stratford and future plans.
