Breakfast at 10! Then wrote several letters to Norman Wilkinson, Vaughan Williams, Dr Hull, Nellie Banks, Dr MacDonald & Walter Howard. I begin to get my things together and then start packing my portmanteau for tomorrow’s journey to Stratford. Weather colder than ever but beautifully clear & bright. After dinner & a rest we all went to Tet’s flat, Charlie & I walking, the rest busing. We all had a real Christmas tea in her kitchen and then smoked & talked in the drawing room Charlie & I listening to some very crude & Bolshevist opinion uttered by Neve!. On return the rest of the family set to work to prepare dinner singing rounds and carols the while which sounded beautifully upstairs where I was packing and getting ready for journey tomorrow. Had rather a picnic dinner and then sat in the drawing room trying to get warm. Weather colder than ever though as this is the third white frost in succession there may be a change tomorrow. How I am going to get a taxi tomorrow I don’t know!Location
