Transcription Notes
After breakfast at 9, I wrote to Batchelor, looked over my papers etc till Peggy & then Denman turned up. We had useful discussion of E.F.D.S. matters until 12.45 when I left with Denman, dropped him at the Shakespeare and then walked up to the Hill where I dined with the Flowers. Discussed various business matters with him. I see that Stratford will soon be too small for us & we shall have to take drastic measures. Walked back to Monte Rosa and then went to reception at Lecture Hall and met the new students and some of the old ones as well. After dinner Mrs Shaw came round and I raked out of her her criticisms as to our propagandist work and also what she intended to do at her meeting in January. I think I disarmed her and that we shall be able to make her enthusiasm & "go" at our disposal and so prevent anything that might bear the appearance of opposition or still worse a split in the camp. Maud and I sang many tunes & songs to her.Location
