A lovely warm spring like day. Slept last night with window wide open and for the greater part of the night under a sheet only! Finished the revision of my tunes after breakfast and then packed my trunk. The Running Set page- proof came in and took a long time to correct. The proofs most unintelligently done. The Printer has used 6 or 7 different types for 3 headings or sub-headings! Quite a business to put it straight. And to add to the confusion they omitted the first sheet! This however arrived just after I had posted off the others! Got my packing done by dinner and all the proofs off. The Baskervills were coming in to dinner but afterwards said they would come in after. We talked a good deal but she is really a very difficult shrewish woman which makes us pity him. He is a quiet humble scholar and she behaves as though she were quite as clever as he and would have done as much perhaps more if she had not been a woman and doomed to look after the house & baby!Location
