They are the cover feature in the Winter 2013 issue of English Dance & Song magazine. The three band members – Hazel Askew, Hannah James and Rowan Rheingans – are the singers in the magazine’s regular ‘Singer, Song and Source’ feature. The song from their repertoire is, effectively, their ‘signature’ song – a version of the ballad Lady Maisry. Their tune is from David Clements, whose songs were noted over 100 years ago when he was living out his final years in Basingstoke Workhouse, Hampshire. Mr Clements only knew part of the story, so the trio have put together their version of the ballad using verses from different sources. The song has a dramatic and horrific storyline: sung by Lady Maisery in unison rather than their more usual three-part harmony style.
