The English Folk Dance and Song Society is a member of the Artsmark Partnership Programme, an Arts Council England endorsed network of organisations who are devoted to bringing great arts and cultural opportunities to children and young people.
The English Folk Dance and Song Society is the national development agency for preserving, protecting, disseminating and promoting the traditional folk arts of England. We work across England and are based at Cecil Sharp House in Camden, London – an award-winning dedicated folk arts centre with performance and exhibition spaces, and a designated library and archive.
As an Artsmark Partner, we can support schools and other educational establishments on their journey to embed arts and culture across the curriculum.
We can offer a range of opportunities to schools that hold, or are working towards, an Artsmark Award:
- Bespoke folk music, dance and song workshops and longer term projects from Early Years to post-16 education. Our range of activities encourage creative music-making, develop skills in learning by ear, support learning across the curriculum, and link to local cultural heritage. Read more
