Group membership
Why join?
Group membership is available for dance or song clubs, schools, festivals and any organisation that wishes to support the charitable work of the English Folk Dance and Song Society.
Group member benefits include
- A magazine every four months, English Dance & Song, providing news and reviews of what’s hot in the folk arts as well as news about the Society’s own activities
- Public Liability Insurance (amateur folk clubs, groups and bands, subject to certain conditions – by application only)
- An expanding range of other benefits, including access to training from People Dancing and to safeguarding resources from Brass Bands England at special rates

How much does Group Membership cost?
Group membership is £89 for 12 months (until 31 December 2024).

Group membership is available by application only, due to insurance conditions.
In becoming a member your group agrees to abide by the aims and objectives of EFDSS: to preserve, promote and develop the folk arts, and also to deliver all activities using best practices in Equity, Diversity and Inclusivity.
We want to engage all people, of all backgrounds, in the folk arts. Therefore we do not accept as members any groups who use solid full face coloured makeup which could be taken by a reasonable observer as likely to imitate or parody a skin colour different from their own. Read more: Policies
