Cecil Sharp House – home of the English Folk Dance and Song Society and the Vaughan Williams Memorial Library – is England’s dedicated folk arts centre. We host concerts, festivals, dances, weekly classes, holiday courses and much more.

Access: free tickets for personal assistants
Ticket-bookers with a disability can reserve a free ticket for a personal assistant to assist you during your visit. You may be asked to provide proof of your entitlement.

Transaction fee
Any online order containing one or more tickets is subject to a single £2 fee per transaction.
Telephone bookings are subject to a single £2.50 fee per transaction.
If your order is only for Education courses or Folkshop items, no transaction fee will be charged.
There is an option at the checkout to add a voluntary donation to help support the work of the English Folk Dance and Song Society.
Concessions for Classes and Courses
We offer reduced-price tickets to people who are in full-time education; in receipt of Job Seeker's Allowance; in receipt of Income-Based Benefit (such as Income Support, Housing or Council Tax Benefit, Working Tax Credit, Pension Credit). Evidence of concession status will need to be provided before the start of term by emailing [email protected] with a copy of your supporting documentation.
Youth tickets for gigs
Young people can buy Under-30 tickets for most gigs promoted by the English Folk Dance and Song Society.
We regret that we are not usually able to offer any other concessions for our gigs.
Under-16s are welcome at all events unless specified otherwise, and must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times.
Seating
Seating is usually unreserved: first come, first served.
Refunds
Tickets cannot usually be refunded or exchanged unless a performance has been cancelled or abandoned when less than half the performance has taken place. Transaction fees will not usually be refunded.
Paper Tickets
As part of our environmental policy, we do not issue paper tickets. When you order online you’ll receive a confirmation email containing your sale number. We’ll check your booking at the box office when you arrive. You won’t need to print out your receipt.
Food and Drink
Our cafe is usually open Monday to Friday, 10am to 5pm, and until the end of the interval on gig nights. It is also open on some Saturdays and Sundays, depending on activities in the House. The bar is open for selected evening events. Read more about catering at Cecil Sharp House.
Third-Party Data Sharing
If you purchase ticket(s) for an event promoted by a third party at our venue, we may share your details with this third party. These details are to be used by the third party for communications only directly concerning the event, unless you say that you would like to keep in touch with them afterwards. Your details will not be passed on to anyone else.
