In his lifetime Bob was responsible for collecting and recording many folk songs, not only preserving the tunes and lyrics, but ensuring that the style in which they were sung remained true to that of his forefathers. He produced a number of recorded collections and published several books, such as his award-winning A Song for Every Season.
His family continues the legacy lovingly preserved by their father and grandfather by sharing the music, through their songs, recordings and books.
Ten Thousand Times Adieu, which will be produced by fRoots magazine, will include film screenings, a singaround and talk from EFDSS President Shirley Collins.
This celebration will culminate in a unique two-part evening concert including the re-appearance of some long-lost line-ups and special new collaborations, all performing music connected with Bob himself.
All profits for the event will be donated to the Vaughan Williams Memorial Library (VWML).
