Kuljit Bhamra MBE, tabla player, composer, and producer, has collaborated with accordionist and composer Becky Price to produce an album of new bhangra ceilidh tunes which will be launched on the night – featuring newly composed music drawing from both vibrant traditions and designed to get people dancing! Kuljit will be joined by melodeonist and singer Hazel Askew to lead a band of brilliant young musicians brought together from alumni of the National Youth Folk Ensemble with specialist Indian instrumentalists.
Leading callers Lisa Heywood and Hardeep Sahota will guide you through joyous dances fusing the irresistible moves of ceilidh and bhangra dancing! Sit back and enjoy interval dance spots from morris and bhangra dancers.
Dances are suitable for all levels of experience - including none! The music can also be enjoyed as an aural treat! The callers will show you the moves and use gender-free calling. Come with your friends or on your own – ceilidhs are a great way to meet new people!
