Cotswold morris (2)
Teams of dancers are usually called sides.
Kit includes bells attached to pads of leather worn just below the knee, brightly coloured ribbons or rosettes, decorated hats and often baldrics - two crossed sashes worn across the chest.
There is often a fool who jests with the audience and dances in and out of the set, traditionally whacking dancers with a pig’s bladder. Nowadays a balloon is more common.
